​Kiharago "Tempera Painting" Course

〇We will give an easy-to-understand lecture on how to actually make pigments and paints and how to apply gold leaf on tempera painting, a Western classical technique. We carry out mainly on practical skills in one 120-minute course.


"Tempera Painting" Course

1. What is tempera painting? (Description)

2. How to make the screen (support) (description)

 10cm square plate※1 per person

3. How to apply gold leaf (hands-on)

1 to 2 pieces of gold leaf per person

4. How to polish gold leaf

Polishing with an agate stick

5. How to make paint (egg yolk medium)

 Each person makes 3 colors of paint on a chrysanthemum plate

6. How to apply color

"Hatching, drawing, etc.

7. How to apply varnish (description)

Purpose of the Kiharago Seminar

This course provides easy-to-understand explanations about history, culture, and how to view art by learning about paints that are often used in everyday life. You can come into contact with art more closely, and learn the basics of how to see and think about art.

2000 Graduated from Kyushu University Graduate School of Fine Arts

2001-2003 Studied art in Paris, France

2003-2021 Worked as a high school art teacher

2021- CEO of GoART LLC
