GREETING
I always want to be present in the moment.
Experiencing art and culture is like a journey through time and space. Prayers engraved on ancient murals, local memories contained in the melodies of faraway lands, questions about society embodied in contemporary art -- all of these allow us to experience the "gaze of others." Through these works of art, we come into contact with lives and values different from our own, and unconsciously build a bridge of "empathy."
The act of creating is not just about facing the outside world, but also about journeying within oneself. Picking up a brush, making music, moving one's body - each of these actions draws out and visualizes inarticulate emotions and unformed thoughts. Creativity is a "silent adventure" that engages one in dialogue with the depths of oneself, and it is filled with the potential for discovery and transformation.
Furthermore, art poses questions. It is not just beautiful; it is also sometimes disturbing, sometimes provocative, challenging our preconceived notions. "What does this mean?" "Why am I drawn to this?" Through such questions, we reexamine our own sensibilities and values, and reconstruct how we relate to the world.
Above all, art creates connections. Like an invisible thread that connects artist and viewer, past and present, individual and society, self and other, art embraces us and teaches us the meaning of being together.
Perhaps this is why art is like a "light." It illuminates our steps in the darkness, shows us direction when we are lost, and sometimes warms our hearts. It is a quiet yet powerful light that not only conveys beauty, but also leads us to questions, realizations, and connections.
